Default Synthetic oils, Which is the best?

Have a 06' 1000RR with about 2000 miles. Going to switch to to a synthetic oil but have heard so many different things about all the different oils that my friends have used and everyone seems to love the oils they use. This in turn tells me that maybe all of them could, in general, be just about the same and it wont really make a difference. Any input?

If you really want the best then get Motul.

You have to be a plastic surgeon to afford it but its the best.

if i had a nickel every time this question is asked... i'd be a ****king billionaire.

so you want the good sheit eh...? Why? looking to draw out your OCIs? running it so hard that conventional oils just aren't holding up to the abuse?

really, i'm super curious...

Amsoil is a 100% Synthetic... give that stuff a shot. i'll betcha that it'll feel no different than had you changed it out to GN4... i tired it once. i had Amsoil in there, changed it to GN4, then someone asked if there was a difference. i said i'd change my fresh GN4 back to AMSOIL IMMEDIATELY and wouldn't you know it, it felt exactly the same. I chalk it up to the oil being fresh, not to being a synthetic. On my CBR600RR, GN4 lasts about 1700 miles before it's finished, for mileage comparison. the Amsoil i have in there i expect to go at least 2000 - 2500. we'll see what blackstone-labs.com has to say come next summer.

for my motorcycles, motul

for my cars, mobil 1

This is just because of clutches. My bike did not like the mobil 1 as much with the wet clutch.

I once tried Amsoil in my car and didn't notice any change either in the way the car ran. I used two oil changes which for me was 6-8 months.
I then switched to Royal Purple and immediately noticed that the rpms werelower to go the same speeds and I got an extra 2 mpg (That was achange from 10 to 12 mpgin my Blazer in the city). So no matter how many claim these great things about Amsoil I think it is all bunk.

I have Full synthetic Pro 4 plus 10W-50 Silkolene to try when I hit 2000-2500 miles. Most of my driving is stop and go commuter traffic with longer rides at least once or twice a week.

I've not yet decided what I'm going to run in my F4i, but it will be synthetic. You might want to spend some time searching and reading here:

I have not spent much time on that sight, but a buddy of mine who is a fanatic about the oil he runs, even in his lawnmower, swears by this place.
