Default 'super' hugger concept idea

I'm fairly sick of cleaning my wheels from chain spray and the plastic under the seat from muck thrown up by the tyre.

A hugger would stop most of the muck from the tyre, but I'm wondering it the hugger concept can't be extended to surround the whole rear tyre except for the part that touches the ground. It would have to be mounted on the swingarm so that it moved with the tyre (same as a hugger).

Would encasing the tyre in a plastic shell cause excessive heat buildup? or can anyone think of other reasons why this is not a good isdea?

Yes, I thought of this for a few minutes...
1) ugly
2) pain to take off rear tire for tire changes
3) chain lube fling off will be all over hugger
4) won't be able to show off lack of 'chicken strips'
5) ugly again

You missed the most important reason...

How can you inspect the tire if it's covered up?

The 07 motoGP bike line up look like they will have a bigger hugger, but not what you are talking about.

the only huggers i like are the ones on the old R6 and R1...very small, short not all bulky like the other aftermarket ones.

ok... point taken...

Maybe an easily removed tube that just goes around the chain then? Flared between the sprockets so the chain can't reach it.

It would be ugly, but e/one seems to be missing the obv question of what are you doing wrong that your having such a problem w/sling off !! Don't get me wrong, i'm all about maintenance, but i've never had a big problem w/sling off. Maybe just a good wipe down after lubing would help ? I was wondering myself about chain "wax"? Is it what it sounds like, any cons ? Also, about the tube idea, and not to be a downer cuz i get what your after, but i wouldn't want to be on that bike if the tube came loose and got into the sprockets !! I'm picturing going down the hwy, passing an 18 wheel'r, rear tire locks solid and i'm road paste. Yeash !!
