Default The stupidest things...

I was out tonight on my bike. I had to go meet a couple bros that helped me move a lot of office furniture and give the some $$$.
I was at the bank waiting for them. I was about to get my phone out so put the kickstand down and my bike was in gear... off she goes, I pull the clutch back in after a quick text and it won't start, DUH! the kickstand is still down, I flip it up, it sputters and dies... and then won't restart, WTF!!!
I turn my key off and on, my lights come back on, great I hit the starter button, dead again... no light, nothing
So I figure I'll try to bum-start it and off I go. It fires right up, untill I hit the throttle and it dies again. Now I'm getting frustrated. I'm thinking the starter is stuck in the engaged position.
I call my G/F and she comes right out with tools, booster cables etc... Before I get too carried away, I start checking fuses and of course everything is good.
Off with the seat (one more fuse, fingers crossed) no luck.
I start digging for the starter... so now I have the seat off, the tank off and I get the starter out. put the jumper cables on the starter, no problem. The starter whirls to life like it was brand new. Now I'm getting ready to call my brother to bring his truck but during the re-assemblly, I hear a small click (up around the battery) I turn the key on and I have lights again. I button up the starter and hit the button... nothing! Lights out again. I start messing with the battery terminals and the negative terminal had a bad connection

so there I was in the bank parking lot, doing a frame up restoration and all I need to do was clean a terminal, argh...

so let that be a lesson to y'all. If she don't start but she did, check your battery terminals, lol

That, and the kill switch. I read a post on another forum recently where the guy was ready to go through an entire weekend of troubleshooting because it would not start and wanted suggestions on where to begin. I suggested checking the kill switch and that was it.
