Steering bearings & seals
yea i was wondering hown hard is it to change stem bearings? is it a job that someone with a little know how can do or is it a involved task where special tools are needed. i mean it looks like a simple enought job but looks can be deciving
Good luck and read the manual if you attempt it yourself...
This bike, my other bike gsxr, flew up in the air almost as high as the side wall in the rainy windy day on freeway off ramp. Managed not to crashed but I am sure it came down on the road pretty hard. That was back in Jan or Feb. Maybe this might have done it?
it's easy if you know what to do.
you need a die grinder to grind the steering stem lower race off.
keep it to help press on the new one.
use a hammer and an extension to pound out the frame neck races. keep them to get the new neck races started.
take your time trying to hammer at everything. it'll go, it's just a slow process. it took me a couple of hours for everything (no fairings or anything like that though).
if your father in law has a press though, you should be good to go
