squeaky brakes
What should I do if my brakes are squeaky.
The bike is brand new. And before i brang it in for the
first oil change check up and stuff it never made a noise like that
I think the wash with water did it.
They said they would wash the bike.
Basterds any idea what i should use.

RE: squeaky brakes
OK, listin up! the squaeky noise is caused from the brake pads vibrating inside the caliper. (completly normal) The way i have found that best takes care of it is to take out the pads and put some silicone gasket maker on the outside of the pad. ( up against the actual piston) that'le take care of it!

RE: squeaky brakes
Most likely it is the pads vibrating in the calipers like mentioned above. This is another way
Get some Caliper grease and apply to any part of the pad that is making contact with the caliper. If you cant tell look for shiny spots on the metal surfaces. Apply a light coat to these areas as needed. Do not apply to the stopping suface. If you compress your calipers when taking them off( I doubt you will have to) but if you do make sure you give them a couple of sqeezes when they are back on the bike. Also look at your rotors. Make sure they do not have hot spots on them because that will cause sqeaking as well.

RE: squeaky brakes
How new is the bike? Sometimes it doesn't bed in properly. Might try and give it a few hard stops. Sometimes when you pussyfoot around with the brakes it glazes itself and you need to give your brakes a real work out everynow and then too get rid of the glazing effect???
