Default sprocket question?

hello boys and girls new to the forum! well i have been out of riding for about 3 years now but now i'm back!! just picked up a 97 900rr, but it was stunted out. so i'm looking to put her back to stock and just use it as a street bike cuz that is what i am more into right now!! but my question is i have 7 up in the back and 1 down in the front for sprockets, so if i go back to stock will i need to change the chain also, i'm guessing so? also does anyone know how much these sprockets are worth?

thanks!!

Generally, change the sprockets and chain at the same time. A worn sprocket will ruin a new chain in no time, and vise-verse. As for worth, only what someone is willing to pay for a used sprocket set. Probably realitically nothing. They are used and new ones run around $30 or so (Less in front/more in rear) per sprocket. Junk em and buy new with the new chain you buy. I would advise to stay -1 up front though, very nice set up.

well, more low end acceleration! but if you do alot of highway riding and like to go over 120 mph alot i would find the oem sprocket set up and maybe just go +1 in the rear or stock.. when you put a smaller sprocket on in the rear you DO NOT have to replace the entire chain, just cut the chain to the right fit (if you have a master link) and your good to go! but sence you said it was a stunt bike the chain is proly stretched to ****... so just look at the rear sprocket and see if the teeth resemble a hook or getting close to looking like a hook.. if it does

Motorcycleproshop.com sells the entire kits for cheap!

when you put a smaller sprocket on in the rear
I think he said there was a +7 in the back.
I dont know if you caught that or not.

I wouldnt go down ANY teeth in back unless I was wanting to go over 200MPH
