Sprocket HELP!!!
I bought a 2013 Honda CBR500R Can anyone tell me if I should change the rear sprocket or save up to get both sprockets changed now I do want to take this bike on longer rides not across the country but long ride but I want the low-end the acceleration to be pretty good better than stock what are your thoughts
Lots of variables open to you regarding your question.
Going for more low end will see you trading it against top end performance. Stock is best of both worlds with your current gearbox.
Front sprocket change is also an option. You should also check that you have enough possible adjustment on your chain to match your choice If you decide to increase the size at the rear. Going one down on the front is a possible solution. Further more, no point in doing anything if your chains past it’s best.
Personally, simply standard, correctly adjusted and in good working order is suitable for me.
Maybe someone with the same model as you and has changed theirs might come along to assist you.
Best if luck mate.

If you just want to do long tours etc then going down few tooth at the back or a 1 tooth up on the front will help lower the cruising rpm and the engine will remain happy.
To me, for long tours you don't want acceleration, you want a low cruising rpm resulting in less engine vibrations.
