speedometer stopped working.

so i was driving it the other day and looked down and it was sitting at 0 mph.

so i took the cable off turned the cable with a screw driver and it made the speedo bump a little bit so im guessing its somthing inside not the cable?

i put the cable back on and leave it for now and i go drive it and it makes a "clicking" noise every 5 feet of driving so it goes faster with speed. what the heck is this click click click noise while driving it?? did i put the cable back on wrong?

update: took the cable off and clicking was still present. must be somthing inside the speedometer

If the speedo spins when you manually turn the cable then it's more than likely that the gear inside the front hub has been destroyed due to lack of lubrication.

take off the front wheel and look inside, report back with what you find

x2 I had these same symptoms last summer. Replaced the broken gear and I was good to go.
