So I did the 16k Maintenance on my 929RR
So I had to get my bike the 16K Mile Maintenace and the **** was going to cost me over $600 at a stealership ... so I decided to do it myself ...
Went over to this place Privateer's Garage in San Diego where you can work on your bike with their tools and pay to use their garage ...
Ended up paying $200 including parts ... spark plugs, oil, oil filter, new bar ends, new front wheel washers ...
Shims to check the valve clearance
checking the clearance of the valves
cam chain gear ... turn this **** by hand son!!
Moar checking
Open Engine
Cam chain
Dat my bike ..

Thanks guise, I was awesome taking my little ***** apart and putting my fingers all up in her,
If I get pictures next time of me removing the tank and air cleaner again, I'll do a write up. I need more pictures of specific bolts/hoses/cables so I can do a good write-up. We used the Honda Shop manual instructions and they were a bit of a pain in the *** due to the black/white and grainy-ness of the pictures.

Nice to see people who aren't afraid to roll their sleeves up and get their hands dirty. I have a 2001 CBR 929 same color as yours. I think working on your own bike really gives you piece of mind that the job was done to your satifaction, you didn't get smoke blown up your a$$, and you save some serious coin. Nice work!!!
Now what were the results on your valvle clearance tolerances? How long do you estimate it took to do the whole job, I'm coming up on 16K and will probably do this next spring. What should I look out for?

lol ... i was scared to fire her up after we put her all back together so I had the owner of the garage do it ... it started up fine but was leaking gas ... I forgot to tighten the nut on the gas pump banjo ...
we tightened it up and it fired up just fine ... idle was good and no MIL light ...

To do the whole job it took me about 6 hours ... including oil change, spark plug change and valve clearance inspection. Parts off, replaced and back on. It took me that long mostly because I didnt really know what I was doing and reading the shop manual is a little difficult. Now I can probably do the whole thing in under 4 hours.
I kind of want to take it all apart again just to document it a little better and see how much time I can shave off, lol
