Default Smokin Joe's Plastics

I just wanna make sure that I am not going to get effed in this deal, so I am asking your opinion...

My friend has a set of Smokin Joes plastics for my F3.....all pieces except for the upper & lower right, tank is perfect, and there is a place on the bottom of the front piece that is cracked a little. One side is a little rashed up also....they are asking $700

I have no fairing stay, so I can't put on my front piece yet, so I will still have to purchase one of those & I don't think they are very cheap...

Ok guys.....whats the deal here?!!

Is your bike a Smokin' Joe edition? If I remember correctly they only made 500 of those each year, so can imagine that used original plastic is hard to find. I have an F2, and I can tell you that finding the sides of the uppers in good condition is VERY hard to do, especially at a decent price. $700 sounds a little steep to me. Is there any way you can post pics? It's kinda hard to say how much I would pay without seeing the plastic. Is it good enough to put on the bike right away, or will it need a little work first?

No, MY bike is NOT that edition. Another girl I ride w/ has these that she bought off of someone. Now, its kinda hard to see but it has rash on both the tail section and the left side....also, you cannot see the crack in the front piece from these pics....and remember, there is no right upper or lower.....tank is included.

Let me know your opinions, please!

$700 is too high if I remember correctly. A guy I ride with has an F3 and he is selling his old plastics and is going to buy what you're looking at and from what I remember him telling me $700 was for the whole set brand new somewhere online.... Let me see if I can find it quick

Are you getting these to replace busted up plastics? If you already have plastics on the bike, you could get a paintshop to do a smokin joe replica for less then $700. Just my 2 cents at least.

Ok, thanks guys. That is kinda what I thought also. All the plastics that I have thus far are the two rear tail pieces. They are not busted either, no real damage, nothing that can't be sanded down....

Thanks for your help on this! If I am going to get eff'ed, I want it to be by choice & I wanna enjoy it!

Too much money!

Just be patient and keep checking Ebay or the classified section here. There are enough plastic body pieces for sale there (or here) for F3's, that you can probably get some that match your tail pieces, for less.

Just my .02 and experience from the 900RR.
