Default Slip-on Vs Full

Slip on or Full System???? Ok once and for all what is the word? I keep getting different opinions. What does each do. And why do they effect torque/hp at various rpm?

Want low end. Thanks!

full system will open up all your piping, from header back so that you get more flow. however, you get less backpressure and with f/s, your power in the lowend will usually suffer, but the bike will pull real good at higher RPM. weight savings is real good.

slip on will open up the piping just behind the headers. you get a bit better flow but not as much as f/s. you won't lose your lowend as with f/s.

imo, if you're tracking it where your RPMs will be screaming most of the time, if not all of the time, go with the f/s. if you're just canyons and streeting it, then go with slip on. you get a tiny bit of power gain and bike sounds real good but you don't lose your lowend. if you're going to do occasional trackday, then go with slip on...save the rest of the money for something else fun, like more trackday or parts, etc.

just my 2 cents...i gots a f/s cause i didn't know any better. it's all custom tuned and pulls real good past 9K, but problem is down low, lost lots of power...so now i went down 1 in the front to compensate.

L8X...I hear what you are saying about what you recommend..but WHY? Why wouild a slip on give me more low-end torque as opposed to a full system which woudl reduce more weight, but increase uppper rpm HP? Not that I disbelieve you, others are saying differently and I want to know the why.

For example: if -1 equals +3 to 4, why would someone do a +3 instead of a -1, since more expensive and more work? people just kept saying what they would do...never the why....well, if you go down on the front it leads to chain wear, it forces the chain to bend more....you also get a longer wheel base so better for accelerating and not bringing the front up, but worse for cornering, plus there is less mass and less weight so some other pluses...but the advantage to + on the back is less chain wear, shorter wheel base so better cornering but tends to bring the front up more but way more expensive.

Tahoe thanks for the explanation on where air occurs and how it effects HP...but I've heard several guys here on the foruj say that since got f/s now crazy hp starting at 5k as was 8k before...WTF?

nice explanation on the gearing.... someone has been doing their homework. You get a gold star for the day, but just for today... don't let it go to your head.

buhahahha...
yo who say f/s with mad power at 5K...maybe for a liter bike but not for 600 mang!
if you still want the f/s...do it and drop a tooth...oh mang...now you thinking about doing the f/s again aren't you?!?! hahhaha...
now you can do slip on and use the bling for something else mang!

we're now back to square one *****...let's give him more thoughts.
for the RR, i'd just bust the slip on mang...until i go hardcore...then i bust f/s...but hardcore only at track mang! safe that way!
