Default Side marker set up as blinkers....

Ok members, here goes....see if anyone can help me...

So my front L/R signal is currently a flush mount/ 12V single filament bulb/ 2 wire hook up. The Ugly OEM ones is 3 wire hook up.

Now, i am try to set up as side marker, meaning that the signal stays on, then when you press signal, the marker blinks...all I am able to find on eBay is a 2 wire signal blinkers....

Anyone understand what I'm trying to get?

If anyone remember, during the early 90's...every car wants to install one of those side markers, some even need to install a relay in order to make this work.

Basically, I want my front signal both R/L to stay on (like parking lights) then blink when press signal.

I know it maybe illegal in some states for automobile, but I think on a bike its okay.

I would like to go led actually...so my guess is a 3 wire set up, so I can utilized the oem 3 wire...

^ Yeah that. I used this same write up last summer and it worked great. You should gave no trouble at all. I was an idiot and didnt think about a connector of some sort, now if I wanna take my fairings off and move them away from the bike Id have to cut the wires and solder them back (this time with a connector). Just something to think about so you dont have the same issue as I do.

I did that plus LED vent mods so now my turn signals are running lights; when I flick the switch the turn signal and the vent LEDs blink.

Don't mind the sound it was my neighbor sitting in his car.

Great info members! Look good to go....only problem now is that I need to get a pair of led blinkers somit don't get too hot. Heard better not to use a 12V filament bulb...may get hot when stay running, melt housing.

I just took off my old signals....DAMN...big **** HOLE! Don't look normal, look like it's been cut....so I need a large pair Blinkers to cover hole....

Yeah those 12V get nice and hot. It shouldnt be hard to find some LED flush mounts. I just bought some really cheap flush mounts for about <$10 and I have them wired as running lights and turn signals. Ive had them for a year and so far so good.

CJardine, Im diggin the vent signals I think ill do that when I get done with school. Those individual LEDs wired together or did you use strips?

weatherproof strips I bought from super bright LEDS. good place. But I recommend securing the LEDS, what ever you choose to do, with Silicone adhesive its much more secure
