Default Are shift forks servicable through the oil pan?

My main person I listen to at my bike shop says that some shift forks can be removed by removing the oil pan and the shift for shaft. Is this possible on the cbr600f3?

yep, you can sit the bike on it's tail and change it. just take your muffler off and put a pillow under the tail and lean the right side of the bike against a wall or post and tie it off. grass and a tree works too.

What bike did you do it on, or do they all have the same basic layout?
