Default Sebring Exhaust / Gaskets

Anybody got any experience with a Sebring end can? (specifically a sebring mu 200 29042).

Came with the bike when I got it, just replaced the header pipes as they'd gained a massive hole, I was assuming that they were stock headers on it, however the replacement (motad) headers I got are a good few mm smaller diameter where they meet the Sebring. Even with the CBR gasket I got then there's a substantial gap.

Measurements are: New Motad headers end at 48.5mm diameter, CBR gasket is 48.5-54.5mm diameter, inside of Sebring can is 61.5mm diameter (although I cut off a bit of old header in there to shrink it down to 57mm).

So I'm still 57-54.5 = 2.5mm gap there. Currently filled with exhaust putty and bandage, which is doing the job but I'd rather a permanent fix.

tl;dr - Anyone know where I could find a gasket 48.5-57 or 54.5-57mm? Or anyone know of anywhere (that is in, or delivers to, the UK) that would make me a custom gasket for not millions of ££'s?

Or a suitable permanent fix... I've seen talk of baked bean tins, aluminum tape, etc, but not totally sold on them as permanent solutions.

I'm looking for a non-stock gasket (basic background, bike has a Sebring end can (inner diameter 57mm), and stock (CBR600FS '95) header pipes (outer diameter 48.5mm), I've used the standard gasket (48.5 - 54.5mm), but it doesn't quite fill the hole).

I'd be looking for something with outer diameter 57mm, and inner diameter either 54.5 or 48.5 (depends on if I use instead of, or in conjunction with the existing gasket). Don't really mind which way around, just if you have a gasket that fits either. (if a choice - then whatever's cheaper!).

Thanks in advance for any info!!

That's unusual, motads on my bike fit the can that was on there before perfectly.

As I see it, you have three options.

1 - Neatest way is to buy a new link pipe (the pipe between the end can and downpipes). Prob doesn't need to be brand specific, check the diameter of both ends with the manufacturer and buy one designed for your bike.

2 - Pipe expanders. Self explanatory, use in the end of the downpipe to widen the bore (I personally wouldn't fancy modifying my nice new motads, but your call).

3 - Pipe Adapter. Essentially a bit of pipe that allows you to step up/down sizes. Haven't checked exact sizes, but this sort of thing. Also consider you can use a bit of plain pipe, or a wrong size adapter in conjunction with pipe expanders.

Thanks for the response!

Like you, don't fancy expanding my nice new pipes!
And there's no seperate link pipe on this, the downpipes and link pipe are one unit.
Reducer would be exactly what I was after if there was one in the size I'm after, but there doesn't seem to be.

What I've done is ordered a larger gasket, but the right thickness of material for what I need, and I'm going to cut a few mm out with a hacksaw and bend it together, then clamp it and add some putty along the seam, so it should be gapless, and pretty!. If that doesn't work then I'll see if I can get a reducer custom made.

Will update once I get a chance to do it!
