Default Runs perfect but dies at a stop light (help)

Hey everyone my 02 f4i runs/starts as perfect as you can imagine but when i hop on the freeway for about 30 minutes it still runs perfect as soon as i get to the offramp and come to a sudden stop, the engine shuts off... when i ride with my buddy his bike runs around the same heat but its a yamaha..
i changed the oil & added radiator fluids but the same problem occurs.
(I forgot to mention that after it shuts off i have to rev it high in order for it to not shut off on me again, but if i give it time to cool down it starts and runs perfect again like nothing happened)
If you have ANY ideas whats wrong just shout it out i will very much appreciate it!

I assume so. The lights don't dim or anything, but what is the proper way to test it?

voltage tester, but it sounds like something in the ignition is heating up and shorting out. GL check out the guys in the F4i section.

In addtion to that, also look into checking the fuel pressure regulator. f4i's have a history of them failing. usually you will have terrible gas mileage and really rich running engine. It could be sticking open after a long period of constant fuel flow, and then killing your engine. Keeping the rpms up will not allow the extra gas to kill the engine, but at idle, it can.

Also, if there has been any mods to the bike, if its ever been down, how miles are on the bike.... any additional info will help diagnosis the issue.

Have you ever taken the tank off? Pinched line? Next time it does it open your gas tank up to and if you hear a big wooosh noise you know your vent line is plugged.

Thanks for the advice guys!
-I HAVE changed the tank just 2 weeks ago, but it was doing the same thing before the change but maybe i pinched it both times haha
-The bike has about 30k miles and it has been down a couple times by the previous owner (he stunted it) and it has a sprocket change and slip on exhaust.
- the bike consistently gives me 40 mpg

lol It's so mind boggling! But I'll try all these suggestions my day off of work. Thanks again and if you have any more suggestions let me know
