RPM ' ss
Hello all still new to the whole riding street bikes and was wondering if i am damaging my engine.
I travel 40 miles a day when i work. I average between 6-7 rmps for about 20-30 mins at a time with little to no stops.
Is this going to drastically kill my motor or is it not causeing it harm other then the normal wear and tear.
Also Should i be changing my oil more frequently because of this fact?

There is no need to "warm up" the engine with idling. Moderate speed is fine with easy acceleration until the engine reaches operating temp. Follow the owner's manual. There is no problem with cruising at a fixed speed for many miles as long as the engine has coolant & oil & you do all the maintenance on time.

take an extra couple of minutes and let your bike warm up.
I usually wait until mine is just above 100. Am I doing it wrong?
You should be OK as long as you aren't redlining it right away. I would let it get a bit warmer in the future if you are looking to get the best life out of your engine though. I usually wait until its at 60c (140F) before I take off.
I think the recomended temp I've read is 160 or 170F? Is that right? (for warm-up)
Anyway, those RPMs are pretty much where I cruise when I'm not riding hard. Long as you warm up the bike properly you'll be golden..

Yeah when riding hard on my 1000 the minimum I hit is 6-7k, and thats for 2-3 hours plus of twisties at times- drunkinmist, Your 600 is designed for way more revs too. My redline is 11,500, the F4i is what like 14k? I think most people consider what you described to be on the conservative side of 'taking it easy'.
