Default Rounded off nut screw heads

Need some advice on how to tackle a rounded off screw head. Had a fall few weeks ago and need to replace right side panel. Having difficulties turning the screw. Tried puttin new notches with hammer and chisel but the metal is tough!

Would paying a mechanic with the right tools be the best idea? Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Could just drill out and retap the hole. I had to do that with my thermo sending unit when it broke off

Take the chisel and hammer tangent to the curve of the bolt.

Vice grips can be your friend if you can get them on well enough. I've also used a dremel tool with a cutoff wheel in the past to put a slot in the head and then used a big flat head screwdriver. Finally I've also welded another bolt onto the head of the bad one using a wire feed welder and then used a socket on the new bolt to take the other one out. Getting the bad one that hot also seems to help break it loose.

Use a drill and drill the head off the screw, remove the panel and use vise grips to grab the remaining part to unscrew?

I would go and pick up and easy out, and a left handed drill that fits the easy out. Drill into the screw just enough to get the easy out to grab. Insert the easy out, begin twisting it, and it will grab the sides of the drilled hole and begin to spin the screw out. The good thing about the easy outs, as long as the hole is deep enough, is that the more pressure you put on it, the harder it bites into the screw.

Also, I suggested getting a left handed drill because many times, mearly using the drill bit will spin the the screw out without even having to drill the hole.

Take a punch, to put a divot in the end of the screw before you drill so the drill bit doesnt wonder.
