Default Roof Stapling a Fairing

hey i've heard of this process where u use roof staples as stiches to repair a fairing. Basically you put the staple over the crack and then use a hot screwdriver to melt it. Has anyone tried this and kow if it works? I have a 99 cbr f4 and i need to repair a fairing around the signal light because i just got flushmounts and the crack will be noticable now.

I dont see how it would hold onto the plastic that well. They are to different types of material. Maybe they ment to staple the crack together, through the fairing, then metal the back side of the stable together.

platic weld, your fairingsshould beABS, get the plastic weld from autozone that will hold ABS plastic. like 5 buck and it will work. melting crap into if it works will only hold for a short time. do a search on fairing repair, lots of stuff about it

I concur, I'm a total bike n00b and I already figured out to use zip ties for the minor repairs, since I use them on my car... You can even color-match them, to a certain extent.

Just drill two small holes and thread the zip tie in from the side that you don't see, and back into the side that you don't see.

Zip ties are to drifters what sutures are to surgeons...
