Default Rev Limiter

Ever since I bought my 07 1K the rev light will flicker some above 7 or 8 K But it has never actually done anything. Today I got on it a bit and it started shutting down around 9 to 10 K.
I dont really know how this thing works so any input would be great and do you think it would be covered by Honda?

wow that sucks. If your bike is still under warranty, then Honda would cover it. But if its not, I think your on your own. I'm not 100 percent sure, but I think the rev limiter is controlled by the ecu. But just about anything concerning the ignition could have an effect on it. if a sensor is going bad, like the pulse generator, or a weak coil, .. I just don't know. Wish I knew more to help ya.

the rev light just tells u need to shift your bike if u take it up to a little past redline and it dont stop then it is not working but the rev light can just flash and just so u dont have to look at the gagues when u race

I doubt it's the ECU, the ECU is firmware and just reacts to information provided to it by the sensors. It's not like it can get "corrupted" or something.

ya i sure hope its under warranty, leik ^ said it wouldnt have anything to do with the ecu cuz if that was the issue u'd have more problems then just a rev limit light. get it into ur local deal asap.
