Default Removing gasket residue from stator cover

Was hoping that someone could recommend a method to remove the old gasket from the stator cover on my F4I. Was afraid of nicking up the metal sealing surface with a razor blade or am I being too paranoid. Thanks and have a good weekend guys.[sm=smiley14.gif]

Use the razor nice and easy and you're fine. It's what I used.

Default Thanks for free advice

The razor blade worked just fine as you guys recommended, just took a long time and the gasket came off in hundreds of litle pieces, a number of which wanted to land inside the stator. Thanks again for the advice guys, this is an awesome board.
