Rectifier diode test help
hi. today i went for a ride and what i noticed was the bike horn sound was getting weaker and weaker. but i kept riding and after few kilometers RPM dropped and died. lucky i've got my multimeter with me and checked the battery. it was 11.9V. so i guessed it was a charging related thing. i pushed start the bike again and it worked. then i came back home using only the battery. i recharged my battery and fitted to the bike. after that i checked for charging with my multimeter and it was not charging at all. voltage wasn't increasing at all.
then i checked the stator first. coil resistance was ok. coil voltage both at high rev and idle were ok.
pulse coil resistance was ok too.
then i came to the rectifier and did some diode test. below are the results
d1 to a1 = 0.5
d1 to a2 = 0.5
d1 to a3 = 0.5
reverse reading = all three readings were "OL"
d2 to a1 = OL
d2 to a2 = OL
d2 to a3 = OL
reverse reading = all three readings were 0.5
d1 to d2 = 1.1
reverse = OL
are those reading ok ? if so what would be the culprit ? please give some advice. thank you.
