Why? Mine sits on a rear stand in my garage (plastic tile floor) but I keep the front wheel turned full left and the steering locked.

I wasn't clear... I should've said when *lifting*. The bike will have the greatest level of vertical stability when lifting the rear w/ the front wheel straight forward.

Not that it can't be lifted w/ the wheel turned to either side but having the front wheel straight forward will give the bike the greatest level of vertical stability.

The main point is lifting the rear safely. Whatever method is safest for you, go for it.
