Default Rear Disc Brake Rotor rusted

My bike has been sitting for about 3 weeks and I noticed that the Rear Disc Brake Rotor got rusted. How should I deal with this?

You could go down to the local parts store and get some brake cleaner, or you could take the bike out for a ride and make a couple hard stops to dust them off. But its probably too cold so I would suggest the brake cleaner. I might be wrong, but I don't think it will hurt anything.

no dude, won't hurt anything. that just happens mang...don't worry about it...or you can get really light grit sandpaper and sand it out.
it's natural with bikes that just sit there for a few days or are kept outside or in areas where the air is damp.

I third that. Don't worry about it, it will come off the minute you use them. Just like car or truck rotors if they sit for a day in the rain they will rust but will not hurt anything. It is not rusting into the metal or anything.

Yep All`s been told, when you use it the rust will come off. Secret is to clean it thoroughly before you put it away for a few weeks, and make sure your discs are bone dry. but it`ll not do any harm.

/bump

Just incase anyone else has the same problem after the long winter, mine is the front rotor instead of the rear though. I'm glad I utilized the search function on this website! Although I am just cluttering with another post, I suck.
