Default RADIATOR FAN

I have a 1989 CBR 600 I am not sure if the radiator fan is working. I have no means of testing the unit and have left the bike running on the drive for ages! no fan. I was just wondering if anybody could tell me how far the temperature gauge rises before the fan cuts in.

Many thanks

Stuart

rises about halfway before kicking on. On my f2 there is a wire running to the switch in front of the rad...jump it to the frame ground on the left side and see if she kicks on with the bike on but not running

its easy to test disconnect the wire from the thermal switch on the left side of the radiator it looks like a big plug with a wire coming out of it now take that wire that you just disconnected and touch it to ground with the key on the fan should come on if it does you need a new thermal switch if it doesnt make sure there is 12 volts at that wire if there is its the fan motor if there isnt check your fuses
