Power Commander - all Honda's the same?
Just wondering about the connector wires for the PCIII across Honda's models, and if they're interchangeable...
On my R6, all the boxes/plugs are the same; the Dynojet website lists 3 of the part numbers (xxx-411) as the same, meaning the physical unit, cables are all the same, from the 03-07 bikes. The maps that come programmed as default are different, but the box remains the same, so you can use an 07 PCIII on a 03, albeit with the appropriate map programmed into it.
Are the units the same across Honda's F4i's, 600RR's, 1000RR's? (ie. are the leads going from the ecu to the injectors the same style plugs?) Or do I have to buy an F4i specific model?

Nope... completely different. Bikes such as the F4i have everything needed for the PCIII in one bulk connector piggyback it and you're done, whereas say a 1000RR you have to piggyback the harness onto each individual injector. Gotta get the one that's made for you're bike

Dayummm...yeah, just found pictures of the one specific to the F4i, its just one big connector. I take it the 600RR is different?
What about the 01-06 F4i, any differences?
Interesting, there's also a model to control ignition...I'm assuming you can advance/retard it on the fly?

Just thought i would add to this. Just took the PCIIIR off my 2002 954 and will be putting on the GF's 01 f4i. I got a PC3 USB for the 954 and dont mind getting a little dirty to make something work. I was hoping things would be plug and play and well the arent. The 954 uses a 8p connector at the injector harness and the f4i uses 10p connector. No good. But some simple digging in the factory service manuals for both bikes shows the f4i and 954 uses the same wire colors for the injectors and sensors. Also the F4i incorporates the the IAT and MAP into this same connection hence the 2 extra pins. Also part of the injector harness is the TPS sensor, this is the same for both bikes also, wire colors also match.
The plan:
Grabbed a spare f4i harness off ebay. Repin the spare f4i harness connectors with the PCIIIR wires. Loop the IAT and MAP signal wires. Plug it in, remap the PCIII with the appropriate f4i map and call it a day. Havent checked for sure yet but the 2p ignition connector should also be the same. If not, no biggie its two wires.
While i could have just sold the PCIIIR (954) and bought a f4i specific one instead of a harness i dont mind trying things and getting a little dirty.
