Default parts/gasket help needed badly!!

i have a 1991 cbr1000f, and my chain broke and busted my front sprocket cover and shifter cover. now im trying to find the shifter cover gasket and i am appearantly searching the wrong thing because none of the sites are showing me the gasket im looking for. when i search shifter cover gasket nothing comes up...someone please help! this is the last thing i need to replace before i can get my bike back from the shop..any help or ideas??

Hard to tell if this is the part you need or not. In the manual it only lists one gasket. I looked in Bikebandit and found this:

might just help you along. If it were me, I would try to call them and have someone tell you exactly what that part is for. They, then , might be ale to steer you in the right direction.

Well according to honda dealership they don't carry them anymore :-( so silicone it is

well i have since fixed that problem....but now i think i have a short somewhere, i took a 20 mile ride the other day and the bike stopped running. i lost all electric and then bike died. so i pushed it off the road and checked the battery. the Positive terminal was MELTED all the way down into a solidified puddle
