painting my tank
ok guys, im thinkin of building a konica F4i and I'm lookin to grab the plastics soon, but the tank is the problem.
A friend said he could get my tank painted one color for $150ish (he works at a body shop), or should I just sand/paint the thing myself? I don't havea booth, so this is gonna be a spray can job if I do it on my own.
opinions/recommendations?

$150 just for the tank????????
damn, look for somebody in your general area that paints race bikes, car body shops will rip you off BIG TIME
I'm having my whole bike painted (2 colors) for $250 by a guy in Tennessee that races (Ghetto Customs)
I wouldn't suggest rattle can paint on a gas tank.Clearcoat doesn't always work so well with rattle can paint and as Joker said clearcoat is VERY important on a gas tank

$150 isnt bad, I could do it alittle cheaper but it would probably cost the same with the shipping. You can use rattle can and I would highly recommend using a good clear coat, like house of kolor or Dupont. And Woody if your getting your bike done for only $250 you are getting one hell of a deal or the quality wont be there.
