i didnt, and still dont, think there is anything connecting the battery to its holder, BUT i can NOT get the SOB out of there. i made sure there were no obstructions around the sides by running a flathead screwdriver all the way around it, then i looped some string through the terminals and pulled with as much strength as ide need to pull it out. still, no budge. wtf!

 

did the previous owner glue it in there?

 

There is a hole in the bottom of the case - that's where I had to push to get mine out...

If you haven't already tried that is...

 

+1 on the hole underneath....put your finger in the hole (hehe...i said "finger in the hole")...push up and grab the batter with your other hand....then remove the finger (hehe) and use your other hand and get a firm grip and pull up...you'll get it out...if that doesn't work...wegde something in the hole...

okay new ? is the hole in the middle of the front half of the bottom panel? because thats the ONLY place on my box it could be, and its also the only spot on the box i have LED's super glued. if i super glued the battery to its holder i am going to punch myself in the face.
