on my 08 cbr in the tool bag is a hoop on each end wire about 6" long. ??

 

It is a helmet strap. You loop it through the metal rings on your helmet strap and then hook it to one of the metal rear seat hooks on the bike. The hetlmet hangs on the side of the bike. It supposed to help with scratches. I manage two helmets at once sometimes.

 

Ok Im an idiot.......I always take my helmet with me inside at work and at home.
