Hi I have a 2002 f4i and just changed to oil and filter. I looked up on ebay and the listings say it's a 204 filter but I've just looked on the bike and there is a 303 fitted? Does anyone know which one should be there? Also want to put a fully synthetic oil in it as well will that be ok?
Thanks

The 303 is 10mm longer than the 204. I'd use 303 if it fits.
You should check that the oil you are using is ok for motorcycle use. Due to the engine sharing oil with the transmission, if it can't take the pressures of the gears it will brake down quickly. A lot of members us Shell Rotella t6. I use Rotella T.

Synthetic is great, esp if you can get some traditional true synthetics like shell rotella or amsoil. Also if your f4i tends to run hot as a lot of f4i does I'd also consider 50w oil, I used to use 10w-40 as manual recommended and my viscosity in my oil report always came out low no matter what I used until I switched to 10w-50

Oh, and on synthetic oil, back when my 1989 CBR600F was new I switched to what I believe was called Honda Goldline synthetic. It made an amazing difference. I run synthetic in both my Harley's and my Dodge and highly recommend it for cooling and better running in general. Find a good quality full synthetic rated for your bike (Amsoil makes a 10W40 part number MCFQT-EA and a 10W30).
