Default Now I did it!!

So this past Saturday I was taking the frame cage off my 900rr, came with the bike as it used to be a stunter. The cage was mounted to the motor mounts, so I jacked the engine up and proceeded to remove the mount bolts. When I was replacing them I didn't even think about the bolts being a bit longer than they should be from the added space of the cage, and I then proceeded to tighten the bolts as much as I possibly could. That is, until I was tightening the one on the right side and hears a loud SNAP! The bolt then had a little play to it, so I removed it thinking that I stripped the bolt. But no, the threads on the bolt are fine. The snap came from the ear on the motor itself! Cracked right through the SOB.

Anyone ever have this, or something like it happen to them? The piece is still there, I'm hoping I can get it welded back together. Worst case, I think I'll have to have the whole ear piece re-done and re-tap the hole. Any thoughts? Anyone around Ann Arbor, MI know of a good aluminum welder? I'll post a pic or two tomorrow, just another thing I have to get taken care of before I can ride, DAMNIT!

Just uploaded a pic of my glorious work, see what you think, tell me how bad you think it is. I've got a guy lined up to weld it, hopefully this week

Man, that's some bad luck! I tried to find an aluminum welder in my area, and it was tough. Apparently, aluminum welding is tricky, and the metal has to be really clean.
