Default my bike is hard to start

I recent had a jet kit put on my bike. I had everything tuned and synced. But my bike is hard to start after it's been sitting. Any suggestions or ideas on what's going on with my bike?

it could be a number of things. A weak battery can make a cold bike hard to start, especially if the bike is not cranking over fast enough.

Its possible the choke wasn't properly adjusted after the carb sync.

its possible the carb sync was done incorrectly.

It's a sad fact that just because you had a shop do it, doesn't mean that it was done right. Was the carb cleaning done at the same time you had the jet kit put in and the sync ? Did it you have any starting issues immediately after that ?

Any carbed bike that sat for a while is hard to start. Typically takes a whole battery charge so have a tender ready and be sure you are starting it off a fully 100% charged battery.

If you set it up a little lean, its even harder to start. Not necessarily a bad thing if you want more power, but you have to be careful. Too lean will damage your engine.

So for now, I guess the question is did you eventually get it started after it sat? How long does it take to start now if so and is your choke on? You most likely need to do more tuning on your jetting. Jet kits are not just a 1 shot easy mod, they take work.

Does it start easier with the choke on or off? What do you consider a pain, how long does it take to start?

I would start with cleaning your carbs thoroughly before any tuning changes. After that you need to adjust your pilot screws accordingly to whether the bike is rich or lean.

I'd take it back to the shop and make sure they did the sync right. You said you put new jets and it is harder to start.. either they are using the wrong jets or its off sync.

It starts with the choke all the way up somewhat easier after about 5-6 times hitting the start button. I took my bike to a shop to get it synced and tuned because it was running really lean. after i put the jet kit in
