Default Motorcycle Mechanics training

Can anyone tell me if those online Motorcycle Mechanic Training schools are worth the effort? I want to learn to be a motorcycle tech but I do not have the time to go to a school as its a bit too far for me to travel daily and I have a job and I cant quit one to do the other.

Thanks

I think their a joke , my wife did the online motorcycle training (Harcourt Learning Direct) and passed it pretty easy .
As long as your working on a 1970s bike those classes are great , I think you would learn more reading your bikes service manual.

For someone who doesnt know much about bikes, do you think it would be at least a good place to start. I intend on attending a motorcycle mechanics school in the future but not for some time.

I'm looking into going to MMI here pretty soon. Online or mail order type courses from what I have heard arent very good. And if your someone that learns by doing you might as well forget it. MMI is sponsored by all the major japanese makers as well as harley. They even offer courses for each of those makes specially certifying you to work on those model bikes. MMI will also help you find an apartment / roommate and a job while your there.

Which location for MMI? I requested information from them and is the school I want to attend. But as of now its not possible. I need to work and cannot relocate my job or give up what I do for the school right now. This is why I considered taking a course online so as I can at least get the basics down. They are also one year booked so even if I wanted to attend id have to wait. Oh well, i waited this long i guess a few more years wont kill me[:@]
