Motorcycle Jack or Stand
Hey guys I was looking for a stand to get on E-bay so that I can do some maintainance on my CBR, and found these two jacks:

eBay Motors: New Motorcycle ATV Hydraulic Floor Jack Lift (item 4632061010 end time Apr-23-06 17:54:55 PDT)

eBay Motors: 1500 LB ATV / MOTORCYCLE JACK LIFT HOIST STAND FREE S&H (item 4632814957 end time Apr-25-06 13:27:00 PDT)
Any feedback, what do you guys think, will these jacks fork for our CBR F4I with farings on them? Or should I just go with stands?
Thanks

buy stands...that jack was lifting that harley by the frame our bikes are built different and i wouldnt want to lift my bike and have all the weight on the engine yup i would get stands fo sho
I have a jack like that and I use it on my Goldwing, but I would never use it on the F4i I had before or on my current 1KRR. My two cents is to get some stands.
you also have to realize that yo would have to remove the fairings to get that jacked up. jcwhitney has a hydraulic lift for like $50, bt as the guys have already said, its not for sportbikes. get the stands.
$100 for front and back

I went to my dealer today and talked w. the service dept. guy. He said that when they disassemble front ends they put the rear in the lift grip and use a screw jack (like to ones that come standard on Japanese cars) under the center of the motorcycle. He said to just strap it down to keep it from moving if I don't have a lift (which I don't). Or I could use a swingarm stand. He also said that a good M/C jack should have straps, and specifically recommended the Craftsman jack. Then I saw this ad which came in the mail: (I found it online for you guys). Zoom in to see the ad for the jack. Tell me what you guys think

I purchased two stands from a buddy of mine and I could not be happier. It takes a few seconds to lift the bike front and rear and you are on your way doing whatever it is you needed to do to the bike. I changed out chain and sprockets last week, and could not be happier with the stands fron and rear. My vote is for stands.
