Mixing Tire Brands
Currently, I have Dunlop D208's. The rear is toast, the front is close to new. Can you replace just a rear tire? AFAIK they don't make this tire anymore. What options would I have to just replace the rear tire?
sure you can
just find a tire that will match the type of riding you do. me personally i love the pilot powers , but recently the bike i have now has a pilot poer in the rear and a meltzer m1 up front . and it feels godo so i havent messed with it because both tires are basically new

some people and obviously tire manufacturer will warn you that doing such things will cause your wife to leave you, your dog to dieand your manhoodwill shrink.
I've done it a lot, and while I am sure that mixing tires doesn't get the optimum from either, its not going to wreck anything or cause you to fall down.

Yep I've done it b4 and it's not a problem.I got a Dunlop 208 up front and a Dunlop qualifier in the rear,Racers mix tire's all the time.Soft rear/Medium up front ive seen it many times.I've never had a prob but hey that's just me evryone's different....
I got a screw in my stock Dunlop rear tire a few months ago. The front was practically brand new still..........so I replaced the rear tire with a Qualifier (closest tire in comparison to the stock).
Well, I put a Pilot Power on there. Feels great! The rubber just feels so much better on the rear. Just feeling it by touch, the rubber on the Pilot Power feels softer. I now wonder if theDunlop 208's wereold or something....makes me worry about my front tire.
