Default MAJOR Power Commander Problems!!!!

Ok so I install the PCIII and download the hopefully correct map (I went by what the website says for an 04 F4i w/ 2 Bros and K&N filter). I then rechecked to make sure the map was loaded and it was, well I get my bike out and go riding and I got 52 miles per full tank!!! NO NOT 52 MILES PER GALLON, PER TANK!! Now I have to tell you Im used to riding around the 5-6k mark and I have taken advice and started riding around the 7-8k mark. I did ride at lower RPMs and it seemed just a tiny bit choppy and it had awesome throttle repsonse around 7-8k with shifting etc. I couldnt believe the difference until my reservoir light came on and I looked and only ridden for 50 miles. So I filled her up and took her home and hooked my laptop up and rechecked and sure enuff the map is still on. And I know my PCIII is working cuz I started it with the seat off and I can see the little green lite go up and down as I hit the throttle.
Now my main question is this: With the more aggressive riding that I was doing. To me anyways it was more aggressive than I usually drive being up in the 7,8k and even hit 10k lol. Yea Im a newb. Should I expect that kind of gas consumption? Or is there something wrong with the map? Do I need to take it to a dyno place and have them run a dyno and tune it that way? What does that cost? All this stuff is new to me. I thought I would hook this thing up and it would get me better gas mileage and better throttle etc. I was getting 140-160 mpg I beleive last summer per tank. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Steve

I'm not real familiar with the F4i but on the 600RR's there are two sets of fuel injectors per cylinder. For the 600RR the directions say to install the PC to the lower set of injectors. If you have two sets of injectors could you have possibly installed your PC to the wrong injectors? The only thing I can suggest is to check your connections making sure you not only installed your PCIII to the right set of injectors for also in the correct order, meaning not backwards. If everything looks to be installed correctly run through another full tank just incase you reset your odometer with out noticing. If you are still having problems after all that I would put an email into Dyno Jet asking them what is going on.

From what ive been told, it's best to have it hooked to the dyno when you tune with the pc. Otherwise things may get screwy.

I didnt do any tuning only uploaded the map im supposed to use. There is only one place to install the the PC and only one way it goes on. There is another set that you could accidentally do it too but it would be hard to get to those, I did as exactly as the instructions said and the picture showed. I will ride it today and see what happens. Hopefully im get all huffy over nuttin. thanks for the replies.

yo refill up and see how many gallons you put in. i'm thinking maybe your reserve sensor is off....or did you have a full tank and then go riding and only got 54 miles and then put in 3.5 gallons?

with that much fuel burning up, you should be smelling it, in fact, it should be coming out of the pipe and even fouling your plugs...

yes i feel like an idiot now. Only thing i can figure is when i installed the PCIII i unhooked the battery and it reset the trip odometer. I was freaked cuz I only rode it quick once before that and it was stored with a full tank for the winter. So I dunno but ive been riding all day and I have passed 75 miles and its fine, I looked in the tank and plenty of gas in there. Sorry for freaking out.

Very simple... takes some time, but it's easy to do. What bike? It's a pain to get to the TPS on the 600RR.
