Default Lurk Fail

What's up all,

i gots a 1998, (streetfighter, post lowside wreck 6mos ago) and everything has been fine, until yesterday. I changed the oil and it had gas in it, probably a stuck valve (according to my recent lurking). Luckily for me (depending on how you look at things), When i hit my start button, nothing happens. Nothing. No spark or anything. but i can push start it at will. New battery, new plugs (just before the oil change), i've shut my petcock off so that no petrol will leak. this is my second ride, my first one was runover by a 18wheeler before i ever did an oilchange so, i don't really know how to fix carbs and such (but i'd like to learn). Help please! I'd really like to get back on the road asap. I guess i can't lurk any longer. Pics comming soon.

oh yeah, when i did my own oil change (my first one ever), i got the instructions from here. I even made a stoopid noowb mistake just for all of your amusement. When i drained the oil into the pan, and changed the filter, and started to add the oil. i forgot to put the nut back into place and my cbr peed oil on my feet. lol

Thats pretty f*in funny. Is your starter getting power to it? Are any safety switches f*ed up, kickstand switch or maybe the switch on the clutch lever (if they came like that way back then)lol. Maybe the starter relay?
