Lowering Link question - I need help!
I NEED to buy a lowering kit for my 929. Please don't tell me NOT to buy it because it makes the handling worse, I need it because I'm a short guy, only 5'3. I bought a CORBIN seat, and it only helped a littile... Now... The question is... there are two types of lowering kits out there. The dog bone... and the two triangle shaped ones.... Whats the different between the two and does it matter? The dog bones a little more expensive, does that mean its better? Please help me out.

The dog bone changes the ratio that the shock is moved in its stroke. The triangle shaped plates alter the set-up within the swing arm. Think of it this way: the dog bone acts as a point (fulcrum) that pushes/pulls the rear. Whilst the plates orientates the relationship of the shock/swingarm & at what angle these relate to the frame.
Ultimately it would be wise to consult with the manufacturer. It is quite possible you may need both to achievve your desired results.
Also, it probably goes without saying that you'll need to adjust (lower) your forks in the triple tree. Which in turn will require you to alter your suspension settings front & rear. Taking copious notes, or you'll be chasing your tail. Alas, you may need to consult a specialty firm such as: After Shocks, GP Suspension, Lindemann's, or Traxxion Dynamics, eetc.
Cheers

I have preached about lowering before, so I won't now. If you have to lower your bike, in your case it sounds like you actually NEED to do it, dog bones are a pretty bulletproof way to do it on your particular bike. Does youe windscreen have some small braces between it and the frame?? If it does, you may need to alter this brace to get around your tubes as they come up through the triples. I am close enought o you that I could do the fab work on your brace for you if need be. Let me know what you decide.
