Default LOW oil ??

Hello this is my first bike, i of course i got a nub question lol where is my oil level supposed to be? also what kind of oil should i use? Can i use regluar motor oil?


I own a 2001 Honda CBR 600

it should be between the lines on the sight glass located on your clutch cover near your oil cap. You should use motorcycle oil 10-40W. DO NOT USE OIL SPECIFICALLY MADE FOR GASOLINE ENGINES. it will ruin the wet clutch

Okay thanks again. I just checked it and the oil level is at the line when the motor is running.

IS THE OIL LEVEL SUPPOSED TO BE AT THE LINE WHEN THE MOTOR ISENT RUNNING???

IT ONLY RISES WHEN THE MOTOR IS ON..

Hi there, is the oil level supposed to be at the line while the engine is off??

If you check it in any other position , you will get incorrect readings ...

i use honda gn4 10w40 oil and there is an inspection window on the right side on the bottom

run the motor a couple minutes and then check the oil level with the bike balanced upright on a level surface.

Honda GN4 10w40 or Rotella T 15w40 are great choices for the F4i.

+1 to what regen says, except add the stipulation, do the check with the bike off.
definetly level ground and the bike upright.
