thanks for all of the replies, I really appreciate the help!
it's an 01. the guy at honda told me that they didn't have the key code on file and that there was no way to get it.
i got a locksmith to come and look at it, with out any luck. he couldn't do it. I called a few others and, apparently, one of them has a person that specializes on motorcycles. He is coming tomorrow (and it's not going to be cheap).
how do i remove the run switch, btw?

This happened to me on my 01 f4i. I just removed the key ignition assembly from the moto and took it along with a spare key blank to a local locksmith. $30 and 20 minutes later and walla! Problem solved!

thank you for all of the help!
the locksmith was able to make two keys with out any problem. while it was pricey, i'm just happy that i have keys and that Ariel is back with me! i was going to try to remove the ignition assembly, but that was going to take too much time (it was parked on campus and i needed to get it out of there asap).
again, i really appreciate all of the info!
CHEERS!!
