LOST KEY:How do I remove my ignition
Hey guys I am in desperation mode here!
I had one key with my bike when I bought it used and one day (on a nice day) I tried to take the bike out for a spin and relaized I couldn't find the key! So right nwo my bike is sitting and its starting to get nice here in SC!!!
I called the delaership and they said I should pull the ignition and they could try and cut me a key, but here's the problem...
I bought star pattern sockets and removed those bolts which made the ignition loose, however I can't seem to pull it out! Any advice or anyone know what is still holding the ignition in? This is on an 2001 F4i.
Also anyone know the best way to getting a key? The dealership said they will try and hand cut the key since its a long key so I might be looking for alternatives if this doesn't work.

the dealership would know better. or at least should.
give them your vin, and a copy of your title. they'll find out what the cut code of the key was and they'll order you a new set.
if they don't know how to do it, tell them to call American Honda and ask for instructions.

yeah no offense implied to you but we get this about once a month and it is from people with not so good intentions so if your dealership does cut you a key without proof that it is your bike then they need to be shut down lol

I understand you guys get this with bad intentions and I have to deal with the same issue with the dealership, however I have the title in my hand and registration so this isn't a problem.
I was under the impression I had to remove the ignion for them to match the tumbler (as the dealership called it, and oh they aren't able to do it and suggested a locksmith).
Just talking to the locksmith they said the code on the top would be fine and they would cut mea key. So.....I will leave the ignition intact for now. I am glad you guys just don't give out tips on how to remove the ignition, lol. Lets hope this works becuase its getting nice outside in SC now.... Thanks guys I will let you know if I get back on it!
