Default Lost all power!

I got a 1996 CBR 600 F3. Just rode it to work today, no problems. Got on it after I got home to go to store, turned on key, pushed start and it cranked right as usual. was backing out of the shed and BAM engine died, lights went out, lost ALL power!! Checked fuses at right fairing, all ok. Checked fuse at starter solenoid, ok also. Battery has 12.87 volts across terminals. nothing works or comes on when key is on. Any suggestions????

ADDITIONAL INFO:
Here's something weird: I charged battery, across the terminals (key off) it has 12.96 volts. Turn the key on no power to anything and voltage across battery goes to 0.10!

Took a wire and put it on positive terminal of battery, touched to starter side of relay and nothing. You can touch that same wire to the frame or to the negative post and it will barely even spark (about like a 9 volt transistor battery) the battery does have 12.96 volts. I took the test meter on ohms and checked the negative cable to ground and according to that it's connected.

sounds like your battery is fried.

A few things to check. Make sure your cables are connected and not corroded. Pull the cables from the batter and clean them. Check to make sure your battery terminals are not loose or cracked. I would also run a second ground wire from your post to the chassis just to make sure your neg battery cables isnt broken inside.

Bring the battery to someplace like autozone and have them load test it. It may have 12.9 volts, but no amps. Sometimes, the battery will fail internally and short out internally for various reasons.

That's what a couple of other people told me so I just stopped on my way home from work and picked up a new one. Got it charging now. The battery was on it when I got it 2 years ago but don't know at that time how long it had been on there. Just glad it happened in my yard and not out on the road!

Its important that you now measure your volts at your battery with the bike running. You want to make sure its not overcharging it. If the rectifier goes out, it can overcharge the battery and ruin it. You'd hate to have a new battery suffer the same fate.

Checked the voltage with it running about 12.96 at idle and 14 something at about 2000 RPM. rode it to work done good. Got about half way home that evening and the biuke shut down! The main fuse popped. put the spare fuse in saw smoke from right side of bike! pulled the fuse back out and the 3 wires from stator had gotten hot and melted. Guess the R/R went bad AGAIN!!
