Default Keep losing bar ends

I've been about 1:3 for keeping a set of bar ends on bith sides of my bike. It seems that if I loosen a good one, I can't get it to go back in securely. Well the attached pic is the throttle side of the one just lost after taking it off to take a look inside; and I lost it on the first ride.

The barrel on the inside seems too far to the end, disallowing me to full insert the aftermarket bar end sliders I just bought. The clutch side is on securely (at least I didn't lose it in 2 rides, so I figure its a keeper).

What do I need to do to get the innards further into the tube so I can crank down on the bolt to expand the rubber?

Loose the rubber part, screw directly into the existing anchor with the correct size screw.

Or....you gotta pull that stock anchor out.

Are the achors supposed to be at different depths? I dont think so. Also if I'm not mistaken, the rubber helps dampen vibrations, which is what caused me to lay attention in the first instance.

I don't recall, its possible though to compensate for the throttle tube on one side.

If they are real bar ends, not the bs aluminum "just for looks" ends, it's the added weight that stops the vibration, not the rubber . This is why the stockers are solid mounted. The rubber type are just too make them universal fit.

It's been so long since I've had the stock bar ends...you could be right.

I think they are different depths on the F4i.
You should be able to find screws at Home Depot and use some loctite.
