Default ignition switch trouble

Hello all,
I have to replace my right handle bar and got the throttle sleeve and cable hooked up. The trouble I am having, is when I go to close up the ignition switch. There is a large gap in the front of it where you can still see inside of it. I tried moving the scews around and that still did not help. Any suggestion on what to do or what I am doing wrong? I have attached pictures of it. the one with my hand holding it is the best of what that gap looks like when the screws are in
Thanks.

There should be a hole in the handlebar that the bottom half of the switch engages with. It has a small peg on it that goes into the hole. When fitting the top part of the switch you may have to rotate the throttle slightly making sure the cable(s) holding part of the switch sit correctly in it. Hope you sort it but get back if you are still having problems.
