Ignition Advancers

RE: Ignition Advancers
Those are the most popular ignition advancers for most bikes. They bump your timing. The time at which the ignition is fired in relationship to the piston rise in the cylinder. If it's say at 32 degrees before TDC stock, and you buy a +4 advancer, it will fire the ignition at 36 before TDC. It will give you more midrange and low end and supposedly clean up throttle response, at the expense of top end power. The gains/losses are probably minor at either end, but some people swear by them.

RE: Ignition Advancers
yeah i did especially on low end.it revs through the gears alot faster..
top end i really cant say to be honest.. i only had it up to 115 before i put it in and for the first time this week i topped 120 but it did seem to climb easier once i got on it pretty good.. but i also havent had it to the strip.sat we are going so i will post some times..
it was 53.99 from dennis kirk, so i feel the ends justified the means and it would be a wise purchase.

the one that i got from dennis kirk

said that it would fit f3's but it said ALT.....whatever that means...click on the picture and enlarge it and read the label.....
but no it was super easy to install.. you take off the timing cover (its in front of the clutch housing) same pattern as the gasket.... then loosen the bolt and remove the old one, insert new one...put the new gasket on and tighten the cover...thats it..no other modifications or adjustments needed
