Default I need new chain and sprockets for a 2000 CBR600F4 ~~~

I do not really need race performance chain or sprockets... Could you please point me into the general direction of cheap/reliable chain and sprockets? (front and rear)

Also I don't know anything about the teeth count or chain leingths, I want to do all the work myself so I would like some help on this.

Should I change the ratio's and chain leingths for better preformance? I dont need alot of topend, I would like more torque.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am looking at all these sprockets and chains on sprocketcenter.com and I dont see any difference between most of the sprockets and chains besides the price... What exacly should I be looking for in a sprocket? I see some for 80$ that seem to be the same thing except for some numbers then a sprocket going for 150$... What is it that I am missing?

ex.
A14902
AFAM 530 Steel Rear Sprocket
$56.00

Compared to,

A86603
AFAM 530 Steel Rear Sprocket
$43.00

What is the difference? Does this matter?

hey mang...sprocketcenter rocks mang!
brian is bomb and will hook you up. you in the OC area?

as far as chain...go with DID...sprocket...vortex, etc. they pretty much same.
you want a 525 chain and matching sprockets. i thin you have an F4 so your stock is 525.

you'll need a chain tool to rivet/press on the master link. as far as chain length, you'll want to wait until you get on the sprockets to determine. you'll need to cut the chain down to length to be safe.

as far as regearing, simplest would be to just go -1 up front. you keep the stock chain length this set up and gives you lots of umph.

Hey I also have a 2000 f4 and need to raplace the chain/sprocket. I don't care about racing as I mainly just go out on weekends for a fun ride maybe a little twisties here and there. Is this a good cost effective replacement? http://www.sprocketcenter.com/p/1032...kit-honda.html Also should I go for the quick acceleration or just normal? I don't want to pop wheelies all day long but wouldnt mind a little more torque. Was also wondering if a newbie like myself could change these on my own? I am somewhat mechanically inclined but never worked on motorcycles before. Thanks for the advice sorry if I'm hijacking.

I went down one in front and up 2 in the rear with my sprockets, Im pretty sure the Vortex are aluminum also, saves weight and i have a DID chain. Dont get a 520 kit unless you are going to be racing, otherwise the chain is just easier to stretch and snap because its not as thick as a 525.

Also, im not trying to say your dumb or anything, just making sure but. Make sure you get 525 sprockets and chain, dont try mixin a 520 chain with 525 sprockets or Vice Versa
