Default How To(s)

Ok well I just got my second bike, which is an 02 F4I and I was wondering if there was a site or a thread with How To's for the f4i. My first bike is a 250 and hasn't needed anything serious besides oil/chain maintenance.

Obviously the f4i will need serious taking care of and I can't afford a shop to do it all. As of right now I'm needing to change out my brake pads quick, and I have a 520 conversion with -1/+3 which I'm wanting to change back to 525 with stock sprockets, so I'll have to take the chain and sprockets off.


any help would be appreciated!

Kudos on going back to the 525 set up. But if you're used to the current set up (-1+3) then stick with it, you might be a lil disappointed with the stock gearing. You will lose plenty of bottom end torque, but on the freeway it'll run at lower RPMs (with the 16/46 tooth set up) If you need any advise just pm me, I just did all this crap a couple weeks ago. When you decide to change the sprockets/chain, have your g/f or a buddy sit on the bike and hold the back brake down while you break loose all the nuts and bolt that hold the sprockets on, DON'T remove them, just break 'em loose, same for the rotors too.

hey thanks! Yeah I just got the bike and only road it around a few time so I don't think i'll be too dissapointed. I want the stock gearing to lessen chances of me lifting the front tire plus it will be used for commuting highway a lot so just seems like the smart idea.

Well then you could always go against the norm and go smaller in the rear. Then you'll get a lil better gas milage on the freeway. But then you''ll lose bottom end torque.

haha i'm not looking to squeeze that much out of it, I figure Honda built the bike right, i'll put it back to how they had it for now.
