hot rectifier
I have a '94 600f2. Is it normal for the rectifier get hot while the bike is running?
I had the side covers off while finalizing the carb adjustments and took the bike for a spin.
When I got off the bike I could feel the heat coming off the rectifier, even the frame was hot where it's mounted! The battery seems to be fully charged, I didn't check it with a voltmeter though, the bike cranks right up so I figured it's alright. Any thoughts?

Yes, it is normal. However, as a R/R gets older, it dissipates heat less. At a point, failure can result.

Just dealt with the issue on my 98F3.
They are designed to shead heat through the frame.
Check your connector. If it looks clean, you're fine.
If it looks like any of the connections are burnt
I'd start looking for a replacement.
Hopefully you aren't there, but take a peek to be sure.

I just replaced the R/R on my '93 CBR 900. I've always had heating issues with the bike. every once in a while after stopping during a long ride it would not start again until it cooled off. recently it has been getting worse to the point where it was not running properly after a 1/2 hour on the road. after replacing it runs fine again. easy to replace. unscrew and unplug. note that Honda updated the part. it now has a heatsink to provide better cooling. updated part # 31600-MV4-0010
Mine got a little hot one day and partially melted the plug... Once that happens the connections get worse and worse so I pulled the plug cut off the old connecttor and put some new one on and works just fine. No need to buy a new rr
