horn malfuction

Default horn malfuction

my horn won't work. checked the fuses. I have a 2000 f4. 12000 on the dash. I dont wrench, but I am sick of chasing people. can I get some help?

Hi. Follow these instructions taken from my Haynes manual and hopefully solve your problem!

Unplug the wiring connectors from the horn. Using two jumper wires apply battery voltage directly to the terminals on the horn. If the horn sounds, check the switch. Also check for voltage at the light green wire connector with the ignition ON and the horn button pressed. If voltage is present, check the dark green wire for continuity to earth. If no voltage was present, check the light green wire for continuity between the horn and the switch, and in the black/brown or white/green (according to model) wire from the switch to the fuse box, and then to the ignition switch. With the ignition switch ON, there should be voltage at the black/brown or white/green wire to the horn button in the left hand switch gear. Hope this helps you out? Good luck!

My horn came unplugged one time, maybe your lucky enough that that's all it is. It made me mad until I actually just took a look and saw the plug hanging there. Felt kinda dumb then.
