Help regarding an engine
Hey, i'm looking at a 2008 Cbr 600. The engine has a hole the same size as a penny if not a little bit bigger. I don't know if I can Jb weld it or if I can fit let's say another engine from previous generation like a 2004 or 2006 engine. I'll attach some videos of the engine. Any help appreciated 🙏.
And in case I need to change the engine, can I put a 2007 cbr 600rr in a 2008 Cbr 600 ? If any of you have done it, any tips on how and what to look for ?

Hello.
Yeah, your're not going to want to try JB on that. If you want to keep that engine, find someone who can TIG weld. They might be able to help.
As to your other question, I don't have any experience with that but it is of the same generation so there is a pretty good chance that it will.

Welcome to the forum Acee, whilst your CBR may have been registered in 2008, it was manufactured at the latest in 2006 when the F4i finished production. The CBR was reintroduced into the range in 2011.
From that perspective any engine from 2001-2006 can just slot in.
I do not think JB weld or similar would be appropriate, a good welder familiar with aluminium should be able to seal it. My issue would be where the material from the puncture went, you really do not want that running round the internals of the engine.
I personally do not know if the RR engine will fit but I would expect not, dannoxyz I'm sure will respond later with a definitive yes or no.
Cheers
